Code of Conduct for Campers

1. Respect Others

• Treat all campers, counsellors and other people you meet during camp with kindness and respect.

• Listen to others when they are speaking and avoid interrupting.

• Use appropriate language and avoid any form of bullying, teasing, or harassment.

2. Follow Camp Rules

• Obey all camp rules and guidelines set by the camp counsellors.

• Respect camp equipment and the parks and facilities that we visit as part of our program.

• If you bring a phone, iPad or other electronic device to camp, please store it in your backpack during programming.

• Use your phone/device only during snack breaks, lunch time or emergencies.

3. Be Safe

• Follow safety instructions provided by camp counsellors during activities.

• Report any unsafe behavior or conditions to a camp counsellor immediately.

• Stay within designated camp areas and do not wander off alone.

• Wash your hands with soap or sanitizer before meals and after using the washroom.

4. Participate

• Engage in all camp activities with a positive attitude.

• Support and encourage your fellow campers during activities and games.

• Be willing to try new things and participate to the best of your ability.

5. Communicate Effectively

• Express your interests, needs and concerns to a camp counsellor.

• Listen to instructions carefully and ask for clarification if needed.

• Work together with your fellow campers to resolve conflicts peacefully.

6. Have Fun

• Enjoy your time at camp and make the most of the experience.

• Be open to making new friends and trying new activities.

• Remember to smile, laugh, and create positive memories with your fellow campers.

By following this code of conduct, you can contribute to a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for everyone at Riverdale Explorers Summer Day Camp.
