Accessibility Policy
1. Purpose
Riverdale Explorers Summer Day Camp is committed to providing accessible services and facilities that respect the dignity and independence of our campers. This Accessibility Policy outlines our commitment to meeting the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Canadian Human Rights Act.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all counsellors and contractors working on behalf of Riverdale Explorers Summer Day Camp, as well as third parties who provide goods, services, or facilities on our behalf.
3. Commitment
Riverdale Explorers Summer Day Camp is committed to:
Ensuring that our policies, practices, and procedures are consistent with the principles of dignity, independence, integration, and equal opportunity for all individuals.
Identifying, preventing, and removing barriers to accessibility in a timely manner.
Engaging with campers with disabilities to understand their accessibility needs and preferences.
Providing a safe, enjoyable and inclusive camp experience.
4. Communication
We will communicate with individuals with disabilities in ways that take into account their accessibility needs. This includes providing information in accessible formats or with communication supports upon request.
5. Feedback
We welcome feedback regarding the accessibility of our services and third party services and facilities. Feedback can be provided in person, by telephone, in writing, or by electronic means, and we will endeavor to respond in a timely manner.
6. Emergency Situations
We will provide information and assistance to individuals with disabilities during emergency situations, taking into account their specific needs.
7. Modifications to this Policy
We may modify or amend this policy in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
