After an exciting first year of operation in 2024 I am excited to announce our return for August of 2025!
Our goal at Riverdale Explorers is to provide a fun and safe experience for our campers. We provide daily activities and trips across the city including the Toronto Islands, the Evergreen Brick Works, the Ontario Science Centre, Royal Ontario Museum, High Park, Riverdale Farm, disc golf at Woodbine Park and the Riverdale Park swimming pool, among others.
Our small group size allows us to connect with our campers. They have a big say in determining the activities and excursions that will happen throughout the week.

"I am a 22-year old undergraduate commerce student at Toronto Metropolitan University. I have experience working with children at overnight camps and through babysitting. I am excited for another year of Riverdale Explorers and cannot wait to meet the campers and parents.
My previous camping experience started when I was 6 years old. I attended a week of overnight camp at YMCA Camp Pine Crest. I continued going there over the next several summers, completed their Leadership and Counsellor-in-Training programs and served as a Counsellor in the summer of 2019.
In addition, when I was 12 years old, I went to Camp Erin, a weekend-long experience for bereaved children, and I served as a youth volunteer there when I was in high school."
Land Acknowledgement
Riverdale Explorers Summer Day Camp would like to acknowledge that Withrow Park, where we are based, is situated upon traditional territories. The territories include the Wendat, Anishinabek Nation, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nations. We also recognize the enduring presence of First Nation peoples on this land.
The treaty that was signed for this particular parcel of land is collectively referred to as the Toronto Purchase and applies to lands east of Brown’s Line to Woodbine Avenue and north towards Newmarket.
